Top Performers on Key Quality Measures®
We are pleased to share with you that The Joint Commission has named Deaconess Hospital and Valley
Hospital a 2014 Top Performer on Key Quality Measures®. Our hospitals are two of only 1,043 out of more
than 3,300 eligible hospitals in the nation to receive this award.
This achievement demonstrates our commitment to excellence by following evidence-based practices shown to improve patient outcomes.
Our hospitals have been specifically recognized for the excellent care we provided in the areas of:
- Heart Failure
- Surgical Care
Deaconess was also recognized for two additional measures:
- Heart Attack
- Perinatal Care
To be a Top Performer, our hospitals had to meet three performance criteria based on 2014 accountability measure data:
- Achieve cumulative performance of 95 percent or above across all reported accountability measures;
- Achieve performance of 95 percent or above on each and every reported accountability measure with at least 30 denominator cases; and
- Have at least one core measure set that had a composite rate of 95 percent or above, and within that measure set, achieve a performance rate of 95 percent or above on all applicable individual accountability measures.
This accomplishment reflects the hard work and dedication of our entire hospital teams to creating a safe place for patients to receive quality care.
